Welcome to KM Coach!

Because even the best training programs can leave you with unanswered questions, we've developed this unique approach to take into consideration individual learning requirements and the uniqueness of people's existing skills, motiviations and commitment. We've partnered with one of the greats in Knowledge Management eLearning to provide what we believe is the "best of both worlds."

We call our approach "Coached KM Learning."

When speaking of training or coaching, it is important to understand how they differ as well as how they each can play a part in an effective learning program. Training imparts specific knowledge about topics important to meeting the learning objectives. Coaching is more geared towards monitoring and improving how the knowledge learned in the training is absorbed and how it will be applied in real life situations.

The training side of our coaching program is aligned with the eKnowledge Center online training program and target performance objectives. We use our coaching as a tool which reinforces the knowledge and techniques learned during the training with the addition of new knowledge, approaches and practices. The end result is a much more effective transfer of knowledge that allows for you to quickly apply what you are learning and have learned in the training to practical knowledge management implementation.

The feedback that a training coach can provide is based on monitoring your results and providing constructive feedback and advice necessary to achieve the training performance objectives. After all, you don't want to simply "complete" the training, you want to understand knowledge management and how to implement it.

Good coaching should consist of positive reinforcement, emphasis on strong points and also targeting any areas that need improvement. The key to outstanding coaching is not simply to point out an area requiring improvement but to offer the specific suggestions on how to overcome the area that requires improvement. And the best coach for you, as you work through your online learning experience, is one who has an extensive background in knowledge management coupled with considerable expertise in knowledge management consulting and training.
